Natra Rx

Hi! Happy Memorial Day to everyone.  I just want to take a moment to express my gratitude to those who served and sacrificed for our freedom.

It’s already the middle of May, which means summer is right around the corner.  Don’t forget to drink lots of water to keep yourself hydrated! Your body will thank you later ❤

Summer also means less makeup because well, let’s face it, who wants to wear all that makeup in the scorching, hot sun! So… here are a few tips on giving your skin that healthy, radiant glow without a layer of foundation.

I’ve been using these two products for about a week now and I already see a difference in my complexion.

Say hello to Natra Rx, a revolutionary skincare line that fuses the best of science and nature in order to precisely target signs of aging and effectively restore youthful-looking skin. Created by an elite team of biologists, physicians, and chemists, Natra Rx proprietary formulas contain unique combinations of plant-derived stem cell technology, natural growth factors, potent peptides, and intelligent microspheres in a timed-release, double-tiered delivery system.

I use the enzyme buffing cream and the PURE:C serum

The buffing cream sloughs off dead skin cells to give your skin a healthy glow, while the serum brightens and clarifies your skin leaving it looking fresh and supple.

In other news…  Let’s all hope that Steph Curry recovers fast.

my (not so green) green juice

I know I haven’t been consistent with my blog posts so I’ve decided to keep a schedule for when my posts go up. You can expect to see a post every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. (Unless otherwise stated) There have been so many events that I didn’t blog about, like the Louis Vuitton Cruise Show or the Christian Dior Cruise Show. I also have a whole bunch of songs that I’ve been meaning to share, so I’ll keep you updated you on that!

So, I’ve been pretty busy these days and one drink that I can always make whenever I’m in a rush is my green juice.  I usually stop by Nekter to fulfill my green juice cravings, but when I don’t have time I usually make it at home with a new recipe every time.

Green juices are great because you can pretty much throw in any vegetable or fruit, blend it, and voilà! You just made your very own green juice. (In this case, would it be considered a smoothie…?)

This time I included spinach, kale, berries (blueberries, raspberries, blackberries), and frozen bananas.

(No, I did not blend the roses into my smoothie. It was only there for decoration 🙂 )

Kale and Spinach (otherwise known as the Popeye effect 🙂 ) are great because it’s chock-full of vitamins and nutrients that our bodies heavily depend on, such as: Vitamin A, Vitamin K, Vitamin C, Iron, Magnesium, Calcium… The list goes on.

A few things that bananas are capable of doing for our bodies are: reducing the risk of cancer and asthma, maintaining low blood pressure, and promoting heart health etc… The same goes for berries, especially blueberries, which are high in antioxidants to help boost your immune system and help with weight loss etc…

This is the final outcome! I know I said I would be making a green juice, but I promise you.. This is a green juice. The color from the blueberries changed the color a bit, but the taste is still amazing! 🙂 Try making your own green juice and reap the benefits. It may take a little time getting used to the taste, especially if you aren’t fond of vegetables, but I promise you it’s a great step towards a healthier lifestyle ❤

Natural makeup days

Recently, many people have been asking me what my daily makeup/skincare routine is.  I was thinking about what to post and I thought that my basic makeup/natural makeup routine would be best to share with you all.  (I’ll save skincare for another blog post)

Being that I was exposed to the wonders makeup from a really young age, I’ve tested out/read about hundreds of different products and found the few that seem to work really well for me.  When I like a certain product, I stick with it for a long time…

FOUNDATION: I’ve found out (through many, many trials) that Makeup Forever’s High Definition foundation works best for me.  My skin type is combination type so I don’t want to wear anything too oily or too matte, and foundation is the perfect combination of both. It fulfills the name’s purpose by making my skin look high definition fresh and clean 24/7.

CONCEALER: I use a variety of different concealers to cover up different trouble spots but I was just introduced to this lifesaver recently. Benefit’s Fakeup under eye concealer upgraded my concealer game to the next level and always manages to covers up my sad dark circles. Also, the outer rim contains Vitamin E and apple seed extract so it leaves your skin feeling hydrated all day, and doesn’t dry out/leave your skin looking cakey like many other concealers do.

POWDER: Okay, this powder and I go waayy back. I know that many people are afraid to use powder because they’re afraid that it’ll make their makeup look too thick/cakey, but just trust me when I say Chanel’s Natural Finish Loose Powder will change your life.  It’s so light yet provides the right amount of setting so your makeup lasts all day. Plus, it has its own distinct scent too  🙂

LIPS: Moisturizing your lips is essential for everyday life because well, who wants to walk around with chapped lips?! Plus, if you decide to wear lipstick, it’s always better to apply it onto a slightly moisturized lip rather than a dry one.  I’m a big fan of EOS Visibly Soft Lip balm, not only because of it’s fun shapes, colors, and variety of different flavors — but because one swipe across your lips and it keeps your lips hydrated all day long.  (It’s not pictured here but I also use a natural pink colored tint on my lips to provide my overall look with some color.)

This was a run through of my everyday basic makeup and the products that I use.  I love discovering new makeup brands/products, so let me know what products you find work for you so that I can test them out too! 🙂

Chanel Cruise 2016

Two days late but it’s still worth a post. Sorry this post is so late. I was caught up in other work that I didn’t have time to post about this on the same day I posted about the MET Gala.  In case you didn’t know, the Chanel Cruise Show was on the exact same day as the MET Gala but that didn’t stop Karl Lagerfeld from hosting yet, another successful show.

Celebrities such as Kristen Stewart, Gisele Bundchen, CL, Han Ye Seul (and more) all attended the show looking fierce, as always, in Chanel attire.

Let me just take a moment to mention how absolutely adorable Karl Lagerfeld’s grandson looked. He walked the runway sandwiched between Karl and Soo Joo Park, currently one of South Korea’s leading models.

Inspired by Korea’s traditional costume, the hanbok (한복), he added a modern flair yet still incorporated the traditional silk patchwork, high waisted dresses, and the iconic Chanel tweed jacket.

These are just a few of my personal favorites from the show, but you can see the rest for yourself here.

fashion inspiration

Many of you have probably already seen, if not heard of, Beyonce’s iconic Givenchy dress that she wore to the MET Gala yesterday.

loved the dress, not only because Beyonce literally “slayed” in it, but because Givenchy is one of the fashion brands that I absolutely admire.  They’re classic, eccentric, bold and edgy, yet elegant.

It was love at first sight with Hubert de Givenchy’s designs after watching Audrey Hepburn’s movies. While Breakfast at Tiffany’s was where she wore the iconic black dress, the outfits that she wore in Charade are my personal favorites.  The simplicity in the outfits is all you really need because the sleek, elegant designs speaks for itself.

While Hubert de Givenchy’s designs lean more towards classic and elegance, Riccardo Tisci switches it up by creating more of a gothic/modern, yet still maintaining that classic look. The outfit Rihanna wore for her Diamonds world tour is legendary

His designs are probably one of the biggest inspirations for street wear, especially in South Korea.

photoshoot fun

One of my closest friends is a film student at UCLA and we like to have fun, casual photoshoots every now and then 🙂 This time we took the pictures at a field inside of her school, but you probably wouldn’t have known it was her school because it’s such a gorgeous open space.  I love the way she takes pictures because each picture tells a story and allows your imagination to run wild.  Here’s a few from that day and I’ll be posting more/ a behind the scenes video later!

I look happy right? I was actually really scared to sit/stand on the branches in a lot of these pictures because of all the bugs and little creatures roaming around… You should also check out her Instagram.  She has lots of pictures of her eats and travels including this cute little snow monkey!

I wonder what we should do for our next shoot… Any ideas?

I don’t think I’ve ever disliked a single song Rihanna released.  I’ve been following her ever since she debuted and witnessed her growth as an artist.  Her songs are perfect for when you want to feel a little badass, wild, and free.  I love how she always adds so much character to her voice and live performances because (for me, at least) it makes the song feel more personable.

Which brings me to the song that’s been on repeat for the past few weeks:

Bitch Better Have My Money (BBHMM)- RIhanna

if you get the chance, you should check out her live performance too…

You could just tell she just let go of every single care in the world and doesn’t think twice about what other people would think of her.

I didn’t prefer this sort of beat before, but these days I love songs that have a trap beat.

What are your opinions on Rihanna’s songs?

Copa Vida

I have a confession..

I kind of have this unhealthy addiction to coffee.

(but only black coffee please)

I love coffee and enjoy discovering new coffee shops in all the nooks and crannies of SoCal. I was in Pasadena today and decided to try a fairly new place called Copa Vida. If you’re ever in California, I highly recommend coming here because not only is their coffee amazing but their deserts are worth trying 🙂

I spent a solid hour by myself reading Gone with the Wind. I just recently started this book and I’m wondering why I haven’t read this earlier.

Also, if you haven’t seen all of the sixteen girl’s teasers yet, I suggest you get on that… Like right now 😍 So looking forward to seeing my babes on TV.

Which contestants are you guys rooting for?

I heard the most beautiful song on the car ride home today and now I’m obsessed.

It’s Wings-Birdy.

If you haven’t heard this song before, I recommend you listen to this song right now. If you still can’t get enough of her beautiful voice, I recommend Shelter-Birdy too.

I think it’s pretty obvious that I’ve been obsessed with Birdy these days, but my favorite artist changes everyday (sometimes within the next hour…) so I’ll be posting a new #songoftheday quite often.

I love all genres of music and I love discovering new songs to listen to 🙂 What are some of your favorite artists/songs to listen to?

Trying something new.

I’m Lena and I’m trying something new.

Some may know me as the “rapper” that used to be in JYP. Some may know me as Lena that dances or acts.  Some may not even know me at all but that’s okay because we’re going to get to know each other. This isn’t just going to be a blog solely dedicated to one topic, but is going to include everything and anything.  I want everyone to be a part of my life and experience the things I’m going through together.  The ups and downs of being 21 and what the world looks like from my point of view.

Let’s go on an adventure together 🙂
